The rollout, confirmed August 19, gives millions of AWS customers native access to xAI's flagship model without leaving the cloud environment where they already build. It marks another major distribution win for Grok just days after xAI began rolling the model out across developer tools.
Built for Agents and Serious Work
Grok 4.6 is xAI's frontier model, designed for long-running agents and demanding interactive and visual tasks. It offers a 500,000-token context window and configurable reasoning effort across four settings — low, medium, high, and xhigh — letting developers dial in the balance between speed and depth for each workload.
That flexibility matters for the kind of multi-step, tool-using applications enterprises increasingly want to deploy, from coding assistants to research agents that run for hours. By exposing reasoning levels as a simple parameter, xAI lets teams tune cost and latency without switching models, building on the capabilities introduced when xAI released Grok 4.6.

On Amazon Bedrock, Grok 4.6 is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, a rate xAI is positioning as competitive for a frontier-class model. Because it runs inside Bedrock, customers can pair Grok with the security, governance, and managed-infrastructure features they already rely on from AWS, lowering the barrier to putting the model into production.
For xAI, meeting developers where they already work is the strategy. Rather than asking enterprises to route around their existing stack, the company is planting Grok inside the biggest cloud platforms, a distribution push that broadens its reach well beyond consumer apps.
