AUSTIN, Texas — Tesla is giving its in-car Grok assistant its widest reach yet, confirming that SpaceXAI's chatbot will roll out across all of Europe and several new Asian markets as part of the 2026 Summer Update. The expansion, announced July 22, extends Grok from a handful of countries to the entire European continent while adding India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
A Continent-Wide Rollout
Until now, Grok has been available in only nine European territories after debuting in the United States last summer and gradually spreading to Canada, Australia, and select markets. The Summer Update — expected to ship as software version 2026.26 by the end of July — opens the assistant to every European country where Tesla operates.
The timing reflects how quickly Grok has evolved inside the car. What began as a conversational companion that answered trivia and told jokes has become a genuine co-pilot, already handling natural-language navigation and hands-free voice commands with a simple "Hey Grok" wake word.
New Powers Behind the Wheel
The Summer Update goes further by giving Grok direct access to vehicle hardware. Drivers across every supported market will be able to place hands-free phone calls, search for and play music, adjust climate settings, and more — all through natural speech rather than tapping the touchscreen. Tesla says these capabilities will be available everywhere Grok is offered, including the newly added regions.
