AUSTIN, Texas — Tesla showrooms across the U.S. are running out of cars to sell as the third quarter wraps up, a strong demand signal just days before the automaker reports its delivery numbers on Oct. 2.
Visitors to stores in locations including Century City, California, and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, found lots nearly empty, with staff saying they had sold out of practically everything, including the display vehicles. The picture adds a new data point to a quarter we previewed in Tesla's Q3 deliveries outlook.
Only Model Y Left
According to showroom reports, the only models still available for delivery before the quarter closes are the Model Y rear-wheel drive and Model Y all-wheel drive. Buyers placing new orders for other trims are being quoted delivery windows stretching into late 2026 and early 2027.
"It's the end of the quarter and we've sold out of everything, including the display vehicles," one employee told a visitor, as Teslarati reported.
