The Hardware Is Ready

Both vehicles have moved through their checkouts. Ship 41 has completed two cryogenic proof tests, had its Raptor engines installed and undergone a single-engine static fire. Booster 21 finished its own proof testing earlier this summer and now sits ready in Mega Bay 1. The steady cadence of tests reflects the operational rhythm SpaceX has built at Starbase, the same discipline that let it recover an intact Starship after the landmark Flight 13 and pull reentry data from the vehicle.

A Milestone Flight for Starlink V3

Flight 14 matters far beyond a single trajectory. A successful orbital mission would clear Starship to begin carrying the next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, which are simply too large to fly on any other rocket in the fleet. SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell has said the added capacity will let the company keep improving service while reaching more customers worldwide.
